Our reviewers have been to Shells a number of times. The food is pretty good. Some things are excellent, some things are pretty good, and some things are bad. Overall, I'd say we generally have a good experience at Shells. The fish is usually very good - but sometimes overdone (fried or not). The clam strip dinner was terrible (overdone and mostly bread - very little clam - and more french fries than clam strips). Other things we've tried were good.

The atmosphere is much, much better than Red Lobster. The service is faster. The meals are prepared better. It's quiet, rather than loud and rowdy. Overall, it's a good experience. But the food just isn't good enough to get a three-star rating. Close, but no cigar...
